Moondance Quilted Indian Blockprinted Cotton $24.95 Per Half Metre
Here at The Dahlia Sewciety we have worked with our suppliers in Jaipur to create a beautiful collection of block-printed quilted cottons.
Our new collection of stunning quilted cottons are a must for any sewist who wants to make a statement!
The stunnning Moondance is a black and white floral with striped background
Double-sided with two different prints that complement each other beautifully!
Not too bulky and lovely to work with!
Think quilted jackets, vests and coats as well as being the perfect fabric for bag and accessory making!
Pattern Suggestions!
The Megan Nielsen Hovea Jacket
The Dhurata Davies Rome Bag or Overlap Jacket
Just to name a few!
Use bias binding for your edges for a seamless finish
These fabrics are fully reversible and quilted with a 100% cotton filling, they are a more narrow woven fabric at 100cm wide.
This is due to the narrow looms used to produce the fabric and quilting process.
Handprinted in Jaipur India, these gorgeous cottons are made using traditional techniques passing down through generations.
Made using carved wooden stamps, the patterns on these veils use an ancestral technique of printing using wooden blocks.
Characteristics of Indian fabrics represent intertwining flowers and leaves.
This technique involves small imperfections in the print but also a return to an artisanal technique and the enhancement of the natural gesture.
The hand feel is in between a lawn and a very soft poplin
95-100 cm wide
100% Cotton outer and inner
100% Cotton filling
320 GSM
