Alex is a slightly challenging, but really cool, sewing project! This modern, mid-length winter coat has a beautiful large collar and lapels, seams at the front with the pockets worked in, and a back vent for a sophisticated finish.
Suggested fabrics: Medium or heavy weight coat fabrics like wool, wool-blend, polyester,…or a jacquard or heavy corduroy.
Fabric requirements: If you are using a checked fabric, add 2 times the height of the check to the fabric requirement.
Main: 140 cm wide fabric: 260 – 330 cm.
Lining: 140 cm wide fabric: 165 – 195 cm.
Sizing: EU 34 – 52 (approx. UK 8/10 – 24/26, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.
Notions: Iron-on interfacing, 3 m (or 1.5 m if you don’t want to interface the whole coat); 1 button, approx. 2.5 cm diameter.
